CONGRATULATIONS TO THE MERSEYSIDE & CHESHIRE 'A' TEAM

With no 'A' team match scheduled in June, M&CBA won Round 2, came 3rd in Round 3 and won again in Round 4, with a winning cumulative score of 146, 15 points ahead of Lancashire in 2nd position. This result ended Manchester's impressive run of 5 consecutive wins in this division since the formation of the league in 2006.

Our M&CBA squad led from the beginning and this year maintained their position to the end - it was tight at the top throughout, so especially gratifying to come away with that superb trophy. It was good to see Westmorland and Mid Wales participating once more, and we look forward to another successful event next year.

Many thanks to the Yorkshire CBA for hosting the event and to Sheffield Bridge Club in particular for the use of their venue, for making everyone so welcome and comfortable and for providing excellent refreshments on the Sunday. And special thanks to everyone involved with the efficient organisation and running of the event.
